DESC Joe Bloggs' web pages - have a look!
IMAGE myicon.gif
MARQUEE
COL ff0000
The second line starts with IMAGE and this is the really fun bit, you can include the filename of a 32 pixel square GIF file to be used as your personal icon. Other sizes will be smushed into a 32 pixel square so again, don't bother! Make sure that the image you specify is in the root level of your web space or you'll get a broken image icon instead.
The third line, if present and containing the word MARQUEE will cause your description text to scroll when viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The fourth line determines the colour of your description. This should be in HTML format, eg. COL ff0000
All of these lines, and indeed the member.cnf file itself, are optional and if they are missing or just badly formed they default as follows; the DESCription becomes 'Visit my home page on UK Online', the IMAGE becomes our standard user icon, and the MARQUEE option defaults to OFF.
Note that you should not use equals signs or quotes in your member.cnf file, just make it look like the example.
We'll be adding more tags from time to time so watch this space!
When you have completed your member.cnf file simply upload it into your web space and wait - the indexing program runs through every fifteen minutes or so - you don't have to wait for long!
